OSU FOOTBALL PRE-GAME TAILGATE PARTY
Join other OSU international students and scholars to experience pre-game activities before the OSU home football game on Saturday, September 17. (Attendance at the game is not part of the activity.) Meet at Oxley Hall at 12:30 p.m. The group will visit an OSU band practice session and pep rally, and will also walk through the OSU Football Stadium parking lot and experience the atmosphere of parties (called tailgate parties) that occur before football games. There is no cost for this activity.
AMERICAN ICE CREAM SOCIAL
Come to OIE between 2-4 on Tuesday, September 20, for an ice cream party. Enjoy free ice cream and toppings and the opportunity to meet people. Families are also welcome.
PICNIC AND JAZZ
You and any family members are invited to Picnic with the Buckeyes at 6:00 p.m. on Tuesday, September 20 on the South Oval. (The grassy area at College and 12th Avenues.) The Columbus Jazz Orchestra will play (including OSU Buckeye songs) and you're encouraged to bring a picnic meal and a blanket or chairs. (If you don't want to bring food from home, carry-out food is available from restaurants on the first floor of the Ohio Union, 1739 N. High Street (with doors opening to College Avenue.) The event is free and open to OSU students, faculty, and staff and their families.
INTERNATIONAL SCHOLAR ENGLISH CONVERSATION GROUP
OIE invites international scholars and employees to meetings of an English conversation group. (Spouses are also welcome.) The group meets for informal English conversation on the dates below. The meetings are a good place to practice English conversation and meet new people. Light refreshments will be provided.
All meetings will be held on Wednesdays from 12:00 noon -1:00 p.m. in room 122 Oxley Hall, 1712 Neil Ave. No reservations are required. The group will meet on 9/28/05, 10/5/05, 10/12/05, 10/19/05, 10/26/05, and 11/2/05. Contact Sue Dollinger (dollinger.2@osu.edu) with any questions.
