HALLOWEEN PARTY

The Office of International Education (OIE) invites you to join us for
a Halloween Party for international scholars and their families on
Saturday, October 29, 2005 from 2-4 p.m. The party will be held in room
122 Oxley Hall, 1712 Neil Avenue. Refreshments will be provided, and
there will be games and prizes for children and adults. Children are
welcome!

This is a great way for scholars (with or without families) to meet new
people. Please e-mail Sue Dollinger (dollinger.2@osu.edu) by October 28
to let us know if you (and any family members) will be attending.

INTERNATIONAL SPOUSES' WELCOME EVENT

Do you have a spouse who has joined you here in Columbus? OIE would
like to invite all new international spouses to a meeting to learn
about: things to do in Columbus, safety, health care, English classes,
volunteering opportunities, children's activities, and other
information. New international spouses will be able to hear from
spouses already familiar with Columbus, as well as to meet other
spouses. Spouses who have already spent time in Columbus are invited to
come welcome the new spouses and learn about additional opportunities.

For date, time, and place of this special event, please send the name
and e-mail address of the spouse to Marlene Perrine at
perrine.195@osu.edu

INTERNATIONAL SCHOLAR ENGLISH CONVERSATION GROUP

It's not too late for you to join the OIE International Scholars
English Conversation Group which meets from 12-1 on Wednesdays in room
122 Oxley Hall. Refreshments will be provided. This is an opportunity
to meet new people and have informal, English conversation. No cost or
registration required. The group will meet on 10/12, 10/19, 10/26, and
11/02. Spouses are also welcome! Contact Sue Dollinger
(dollinger.2@osu.edu_ with any questions.

DIVERSITY (GREEN CARD) LOTTERY PROGRAM

Each year, the United States administers a program in which up to
50,000 immigrant visas (green cards) are made available in a lottery
system to foreign nationals of countries which have historically been
under-represented in the United States. This year's application
period will be from October 5, 2005 - December 4, 2005. For more
information see
