Cuisine from the Middle East and Central Asia Served During Intermission.

Examples of traditional Arab, Persian, and Turkic music will be performed by the "Silk Road Ensemble," with an intermission featuring samples of cuisine from those regions. The "Silk Road Ensemble" is comprised of musicians form Azarbaijan, Iran, Uzbekistan, who are all well-known in their field. The audience will be able to experience music performed on native instruments, beautifully crafted, which they may never otherwise have a chance to see or hear. Students of music and ethnomusicology, international studies, comparative and folklore studies, and those interested in Central Asian and Middle Eastern cultural heritage will all benefit from attending.
