Afghan Women's Course and Conference at OSU

Are you interested in a course that will examine the social progress of women in a post Taliban Afghanistan? This spring The College of Humanities will offer a 2 credit hour course entitled Afghan Women in Social Reconstruction. This course will examine the history of women in Afghanistan and the current political and social changes taking place in that country. This class will be offered in conjunction with the Afghan Women Leaders Speak Conference at The Ohio State University, April 14-18, 2005.

The class will be taught by Professor Sally Kitch, a leading historian of feminist theory and social change strategies and Professor Margaret Mills, a leading scholar of the contemporary culture and history of Afghanistan, with extensive field research experience beginning from the 1970’s in Afghanistan and elsewhere in the region and numerous publications on gender and expressive culture in Afghan Persian (Dari) and other regional languages.
